TPI Visits GRI/LSDi in Kimball, Nebraska: A Partnership Built on Quality, Trust, and 27 Years of Collaboration
Before hosting our Denver TPI Tech Roadshow, our team—Bonnie Gentry, Kyle Mitchell, and Andy Allen—hit the road for a special visit to one of our longest and most valued partners: George Risk Industries (GRI) and Labor Saving Devices (LSDi) in Kimball, Nebraska. The drive from Denver to Kimball is classic Midwest—wide open skies, long stretches of highway, and the kind of scenery that reminds you why American manufacturing has such deep roots in this part of the country. For us, the trip was more than a factory tour. It was a chance to reconnect with a partner we’ve proudly represented for over 27 years, making GRI our longest-standing manufacturer relationship.
A Look Inside American Manufacturing
Walking through GRI’s facility, you immediately see the pride and precision that go into every product they make. From door contacts to specialty sensors, GRI continues to manufacture dependable security solutions right here in the USA, and seeing that process firsthand is always inspiring.
Our team toured the production floor, quality control department, and shipping operations—each area showcasing the craftsmanship and attention to detail GRI is known for. We got a close look at new equipment added to streamline labeling and production, and watched how their team maintains efficiency without ever compromising quality. It’s one thing to talk about “Made in America,” but it’s another to stand in the place where those products are built, tested, and shipped with care.
The People Behind the Products
As impressive as the facility is, the highlight of the visit was spending time with the people who make GRI and LSDi exceptional. We enjoyed catching up with members of the sales team—Jason, Marshall, Margaret, Tammy, and Scott—whose dedication and product knowledge continue to strengthen the brand’s reputation across the industry.
A special thank‑you goes to Charles, who guided us through a detailed tour of the production floor. His insight into the manufacturing process and the pride he takes in the work made the visit even more meaningful. We wrapped up the day with a great lunch alongside Scott, Stephanie Risk‑McElroy, and her husband Ryan—another reminder that strong partnerships are built not just on business, but on genuine relationships.
A Partnership That Stands the Test of Time
Our visit to Kimball reinforced what has made the TPI–GRI partnership so special for nearly three decades. Yes, GRI produces reliable, installer‑friendly products that integrators trust—but the real foundation of our relationship is the people, the loyalty, and the shared commitment to doing things the right way. It’s rare to find partnerships that last this long in our industry, and even rarer to find ones that continue to grow stronger year after year.
We’re grateful for the hospitality, the behind‑the‑scenes access, and the chance to see the heart of GRI’s operation. Most of all, we’re proud to represent products made in the USA and the team that stands behind them.
